Informative tool. (06/10)
To me ICT as an informative tool means using of various technologies like the internet, computers, social media, videos, and software to share, collect and communicate information effectively. Informative tool can compromise of vast amount of information in various formats like graphics, text, sound, image and videos.
Why do we integrate informative tool in the classroom?
- to make learning interactive through videos, pictures and online materials.
- it prepares the students for the digital world.
- it promotes independent learning.
- improves understanding and retention of a student.
- it supports different learning styles.
As a future teacher i can use informative tools in my classroom to make learning more effective, interesting and engaging. some tools like PowerPoint, google slides helps to present lessons clearly with visuals, charts and short videos. educational websites and videos, like Edu care, YouTube Edu or national geographical kids, make complex and tough topics easier for students to understand. For example if I am supposed to teach about wild animal in social studies I would show them the YouTube videos of wild animals which are more convenient and relevant to the topic. Then, with the use of smartboard or projector I would show them the pictures from (relevant websites )of wild animal like how they live and what they eat. This methodology helps students understand and visualize how animals live and it also develops their skills in analyzing, observing and enhancing more knowledge.
In today's world ICT plays a vital role in education. It also makes both teacher and students work much more easier and effective. So as a teacher i would use different types of tools to make my students understand and learn better and include them with different types of tools to meet the needs of each student.
